Excellent, glad someone else has come back with a list. Will spend the rest of the night at last.fm trying out some of the bands on your list who I have never heard of (which is quite a few ). Don't know how I missed Tunng off my list, it is an excellent album,
Cheers,
Dave C

Hi acidhead,
Just because you correctly guessed the winner of the Mercury Music Award, no need to rub it in

Nice list!, Love the Goldfrapp and Nick Cave.

Here is a few more that I would add, of course some are more mainstream...

Metallica - Death Magnetic (album of the year in my opinion)
Buckcherry - Black Butterfly
Scars on Broadway - Scars on Broadway
Coldplay -Viva la Vida
Duffy - Rockferry (think this was last year, but it grew in popularity this year)

GO SOX!!!!!!!

Don't forget to add "Nostradamus" by Judas Priest, a really great return to form.

Although it is more of a greatest hits, "Live in Gdansk" by David Gilmour is excellent and probably the last by the late great Richard Wright.

Mott The Hoople
"Fabulous band - on a good night the best in the world, and more influential than anyone at the time dared believe..." - Pete Frame (Rock Family Trees)
