Smile Chris & Gary-The Blues Brothers - 10-19-2008, 05:41 PM

Two great bluesmen Chris Rea & Gary Moore both have new albums out and added yesterday on mp3sale, both are 320kbps, and both are worth getting for different reasons.
Chris Rea's is a new sort of best of, but do not let it put you off as a third of the songs are new versions, a quality album.
Gary Moore's is all new and what a cracker, especially the 10+ minute "I love you more than you'll ever know", worth the entrance money alone.

If you like the blues, you cannot go wrong with these two, sheer quality.

Hi Chris, and thanks for pointing these two albums out. Gary Moore's "Bad for you baby" was an easy decision to make and is downloading now

For some reason that I can't explain I've never really enjoyed Chris Rea that much but you recommend the album so highly I thought I would give him another go. Is the album "The Return Of The Fabulous Hofner Blue Notes"? It's 320 and looks new but I thought the album title had been around for a while. Can you clarify so I can make sure I check out the right thing?

No, I have the "The Return of The Fabulous Hofner Blue Notes" , it is this one which as a casual Rea fan you may enjoy better.

Thumbs up "Blues Alive" (1993) probably his best..... - 10-27-2008, 06:57 PM

This is without doubt my favourite Gary Moore (live) album, and it contains his best ever version of Parisienne Walkways, which in turn is my second favourite song of all time after Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd.

Thanks for the recommend..I wanted to get more into him.The few things
I've heard.He's a fine guitarist.There's a album called G3 Live with Joe
Satriani,Gary More and Steve Vai..It is quite a guitar record!
Amazing exchange of licks.

Hi Nightfly,

You will be amazed at his "live" playing on this album, be aware my version from mp3sale has a couple of small noises on the first two tracks, nothing serious.

Thanks Chris,

The small noises don't bother me.Rember the boots we listened to in the late
60's and early 70's.I could listen to anything now....lol...

Hey Sir Hirs.,

"Live in Concert" Should be the earliest and with those specific guitarists.

It's really excellent electric guitar playing at it's best. You'll be impressed.

The Group always contains Joe Satriani and Steve Vai but they always
pick up a new 3rd guitar player when they make a new live album. They have
never made a studio album. To restrained for players like these.
