my first review!! - 07-29-2007, 08:13 PM

hello all and good day,

well i downloaded the killers (sam's town) last week and i thought i would give it a review for those of you who are interested in maybe downloading it.

for those of you who have never listened to the killers, they are best descirbed as the sound of 1980's hits new wave.

sams town seems to use the same formula as there first album(HOT FUSS). they love to use 80's pop hooks, screaming guitars and heavy use of synthesizers. by the way, i love all of this.

i read some were that they used veteran producers flood and alan moulder (Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, U2), these guys added some much needed extra punch to there music. if you listened to hot fuss and then sams town you can really tell the differnce between the two cd's. sams town is much more brighter and new wave then hot fuss.

sams town comes with 12 songs. at first, only a couple of the tracks really stood out to me; the more i listened to the cd it really started to grow on me. i can honestly say that there are only 2 or 3 songs that are ok. for the other 9-10 tracks on the cd are awsome.

i really like this cd better then hot fuss. i would give this one a 4 out 5 and a stamp of approval. and i would of course recommend you download asap.

thanks for reading my first review.

chad

The Killers are fantastic. I love both of their albums. Hot Fuss is a bit more accessible. Sam's Town takes a while to grown on you - but it does, it really does and is generally an indication of quality music. I love both albums very much and find them frequently in rotation on my iPod (as I do most of 80s new wave!).

Thanks Chad ..Great review I always had Sam's Town on the back burner
to download..I can hear why it has inspired you to write a review..
and you have inspired me to download it immediately...
already have Hot Fuss..

I hope this this review is the first of many..I have great respect for your musical opinions..

Once again thanks ,

edit: Just listened to Sam's Town ... great album..liked it even better than Hot Fuss liked that it was more guitar oriented(surprise coming from me...lol..) and the group showed some growth in their writing...just put it on my mp3 player..
thanks
