Thumbs up Procol Harum "Live at the Union Chapel" - 09-10-2008, 05:49 PM

To any fans, including Nightfly, since refinding Procol Harum I have now purchased almost all of their albums. All are good, most are excellent, but in my humble opinion this is top of the pile, although it is not all original line up, the songs are.

In fact I liked this so much, I bought the DVD from Amazon because the CD is not the full concert, but was an 11 song CD you can only buy with the DVD as a package, as far as I know.

Also as far as I know Millisong is the only one who has it, sounds great in 320 kbps.

Takes me back. - 09-10-2008, 07:14 PM

Good to see the last number is Whiter Shade of Pale.

Back in the late 60s early 70s I ran a mobile disco with a friend and we always closed our sessions with this track.
Over the years we wore out at least three copies of this record - 45 vinyl in those days!

Glad you noticed Ashley,
what makes this DVD/CD special, is the version of AWSOP on here is the long version which is very seldom played or heard, it has the THIRD verse, worth the entrance money alone.

Check out below towards the bottom.

'Live at the Union Chapel' : liner-note

Thanks for the info Chris, the notes were very informative.

To be honest I did not know there was a third verse let alone a forth!

Just had a look on Amazon and I will probably order a copy of the DVD when I get back off holiday - looks good.

At under £7 +P&P, it is well worth it, over two hour concert + extras.

Virtually all my downloads were from mp3sale, their Procol Harum and Mott collections are second to none.

Just picked up a cheap secondhand triple CD (57 tracks) from Ebay, "A & B The Singles" , excellent.

Can't we please go back to the time when Megadeth and Metallica were the only bands on your mind?
