Question What's Your Favorite Song - 06-12-2007, 07:09 PM

Shadman started a Desert Island Disc thread which reveals members favorite
albums and reveals a members tastes in music and shares a bit about themselves by doing so...Also Harroldissimo mentioned his favorite song in the Album thread that revealed more than his album list did..because I feel our
Favorite song reflects our true nature..Tell us your favorite song and why?
if you have 2 or 3 or 4 equals thats ok ..I know one is hard..lol..but I think this will be interesting... mine are:

What Does It Take - Jr. Walker and The Allstars --very romantic and soulful..love the melody, singing and Motown arraingement..oh yes Jr.'s Sax

Denise ... Randy and The Rainbows...just a nice little doo wop song with a great hook that I heard when I was a kid that never left my head and its romantic and simple and great vocals.

Try A Little Tenderness .... Otis Redding...what can I say one of the great
soul performances of all time and I just love the build up (live in europe is the
best version)

Walk Don't Run.. The Safaris or Ventures.. the first guitar instrumental I learned all the way through at 12 because I thought it was the coolest song I ever heard...and I never looked back..this is the ringtone on my phone..lol..

I know these are all oldies..but they trigger something in me..there are plenty
of modern songs that may do the same thing and I love, but they don't have the longevity and the attachment that the above have.
Now you go...

Thanks,
Nightfly

Neverland - Marillion... a nice atmosphere

No One Can - Marillion... because I like to dedicate to my beloved wife

Famous Blue Raincoat - Leonard Cohen... I couldn't say why, but I love this song

Kalvin Kleenex

Hi Kalvin and congratulations on being a father. If you haven't tried it yet - it's the greatest thing - ever...

My five favourites are in no particular order:

Let's Go Together - Change
You Are Not Alone - Michael Jackson
The Power Of Love - Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Always The Last To Know - Del Amitri
People Are People - Depeche Mode

I guess we can thereby conclude that I am perhaps a little bit younger and definitely a lot more pop oriented than most of you guys in this thread so far

Thanks Solaris, this will be my first child, a daughter.

I forget one song in my previous post (and it's unforgivable):

IMAGINE - JOHN LENNON!!! I wish the World were like Lennon said

Hi Kalvin,
First, congratulation on the impending fatherhood, you are in for a treat (I have got two now; 3 & 1). Allofmp3 has got an excellent selection of young kids’ music under 'Various children'. Check out the selection of Rockabye Baby!-Lullaby Renditions; Led Zeppelin is my favorite (http://www.mp3sparks.com/r2/Various_...tml?albref=32). When they get older, 40 Favouite Nursery Rhymes is a good choice.
These just miss out of my favorite tracks list though, but here are some that do make it: -
(1) Peter Gabriel; Games without Frontiers (takes me back to my youth).
(2) Genesis; Supper's ready (bit of a cheat I know, but it is a single track).
& (3) Pulp; Common People (made a complete tit of myself on the dance floor with this so many time, it should be banned ).
Cheers,
Dave

It's been a long time

Thanks for all your recommendations!

Dave, I will try "Rockabye Baby!-Lullaby Renditions". I've made a search and I've seen there's a lot of artists: from Bob Marley to Metallica. And most of them like me very much. Tomorrow I will begin to download it. Thank you very much!

Nightfly, James Taylor is now in my downloading queue.

Kalvin
