I've been thinking about this for a while and it seems to be quite a conundrum. If we have these numerous other dozens of sites which sell mp3 music at a very reasonable price, what is stopping the music industry from going after them. For example
mp3fiesta doubled it's prices, but is still around $3 for a full album. It worries me. This is not only because I can't stand paying $12+ for a CD I may or may not like; but also because with the music industry's current situation, what better do they have to do? Considering how incredibly difficult it is to fund our alltunes accounts, the near shutdown was a rousing success. Was it just because allofmp3 was the best, i.e. it had the most options for downloading quality and the largest library? Or was it simply because it was the most popular? Did Apple have anything to do with the witch hunt? With iTunes as the "socially acceptable" mp3 site it seems likely to me. The real question is what does the music industry think they are going to accomplish by doing these things? To me it makes me even more resistant to paying for physical media.
BTW excellent list of other music downloading sites whoever compiled it.
