Has anyone else noticed the red-underlined ".ru" on the allofmp3.com site? Does anyone have any idea what they would try to say with this?

it could either be allofmp3 stating that they are not advertising to westerners and stating their service is for russian use.

OR they are trying to subtly tell us that something is different when allofmp3 is accessed using the RU extension lol, i prefer the 2nd idea.

After they have transferred all customers that spend enough on Allofmp3 to MP3Sp or MM Allofmp3 will probably become the site for Russians "only". I presume even the English version will disappear...
That's why if you make a new account on MP3sparks you are able to pay (in some parts of the world anyway) if you make a new account on Allofmp3 that is not the case.

That isn't why. You can't pay on AllofMP3.com because it IS AllofMP3.com and neither Visa nor Mastercard will do business with them. Sparks gets around this by being licensed by NP-FAIR instead of ROMS. Alltunes gets around it by E-centru pretending not to realize that Alltunes is really AllofMP3.com. But they haven't turned off payment for AllofMP3.com so much as have had it shut off.

Maybe using .ru is getting them around that now?

I tried to fill up with AllOfMP3.ru and was informed payment was not available and to try allTunes, so it seems not (for me anyway)

I was able to load another $25 through the .ru webpage just now.

As soon as it loaded, I got an invite to join mp3sparks. Now the question is, given some of the issues people have been having with mp3sparks, whether I should switch given that I've been able to load money through the .ru website.

Any thoughts?

Transfer the account now.

I'm pretty sure that Assistance is keen on getting all non-Russians over to Sparks, so "only" the Russians remain on AllOfMP3.ru.

You will also be able to pay on Sparks.

I've been reading about people having payment issues on sparks. But since I just loaded $50, I should be good for a while.
