I doubt AOM is gone. I think it has just changed its name to .ru. Why would the banner be up if they weren't going to come back? Russia has complied with the LETTER of their promise, to shut down "AllofMP3.com" Trying to shut down the whole service is a lot harder. They can keep changing names indefinitely and they could also move to another country if Russia becomes too inhospitable.

It's likely allofmp3/sparks' strategy is to comply with WTO>US shutdown requirement and operate as mp3sparks for the majority of non-Russian users. People in the know will, and are, switching to mp3sparks and at this point RIAA is not concerned. Mp3sparks hasn't gained the popularity of Allofmp3-- or it's belligerent PR campaign against the Record Industry. The last online press interview was a turning point, and VISA/Mastercard refused payments after that.

But mp3sparks will gain popularity in the coming year/s and RIAA will once again lobby & bribe the US Gov. and its Trade Reps. into twisting mp3sparks' arm.

Interesting reply from sparks regarding inability to access with aomp3 login information:

"All information about account transferring is in your Balance section at the site allofmp3.ru
The service will be restored in few days."

BTW, Cornutopia... is there a webmaster/site administrator contact information for this site? I can't seem to find a reference to a site administrator anywhere on the site. I am trying to figure out why I can't access the MM invite thread (only...)
