I am here becasue I have received a message saying that my absence from the forum has been missed.

I know it's only an automated message, but it got me wishing that the download site would pay as much attention to its 'junior' members as the forum site does.

Anyway it appears that I have no chance of receiving the sparks link as I am below the $100 limit. so it looks like a reluctant goodbye.

I've actually been surfing the alternatives helped by this site

which is a list of similar download sites.

My favorite so far is mp3stor. clumsy interface and limited options for finding artists, but it has a good range of music, ( particularly good for reggae and 70's punk not found on AoMP3 ). Also the download times are much quicker then AoMP3. Not as good as AoMP3 but crucially you can top up your balance and sadly if I'd been able to spend the same amount with AoMP3 that I've just spent with them then i would have got that invite to sparks and would also be on my way to a potential memphis invite.

I still have access to music so life is not so bad. And I'll check back regularly to see if i can get to use sparks.

You realize that there is no connection between AllofMP3 and this site, right?

There is not necessarily a $100 limit. That was conjecture, and I think it has been demonstrated to be wrong. I don't know what logic, if any, AOMP3 is using when handing out transfer links, but it ain't THAT simple.

There appears to some sort of limit in place as I check my AOMP3 account regularly and I have never seen the link to transfer to Sparks - my balance is $0.03! As I am unable to add to the balance it would appear that I will never receive the offer to transfer.

Yes I do realise that this site is seperate to AoMP3. I also realise from reading the entries on this forum that the limit of $100 credit history is not set in stone in order to get a transfer to sparks. However when I contacted assistance on this issue I got a response stating ' You are not eligible for this service.' This is the reason that I have given up hope, but i will keep checking to see if there has been a change in my luck

I wouldn't be that upset that you didn't get the invite. I sent an assistance request, got switched over and can't add any money. I had a back-door method to add to the AOM balance, but now I am dead in the water... You may be better off where you are...

Unfortunately this statement seems to be correct.
Since the beginning of my membership at AllofMP3 earlier this year and despite the constant problems of topping up my balance, I managed to spend a total of more than $150.
But it seems that this was not enough to earn the invitation to switch over to MP3Sparks. Until today, and despite several requests to Tech Support, I did not get the dreaded link. So I continue checking my balance section every few minutes and hope that the miracle will happen!?

It may not be tied to money at all. And don't fret so much. I switched over and I can't add anything either, so it might not help you at all. That is why I keep correcting everyone when they keep saying you can top up if you switch. That simply isn't true. SOME people can, but then some people can add to their AOMP3 balance through alltunes too.

With an existing $50 balance or with a total spent of $50?
If it is a question of current balance, I have no chance to ever get tha tlink, because my balance is down to 0.00 and I am not aware of any way to change that.
