Any shift in payment options on MM? - 03-06-2008, 03:20 AM

So I tried to pay (unsuccessfully of course) just now, and noticed that in the credit card payment options my choices have increased - whereas the highest amount I used to be able to pay used to be $100, it's now $200 (but it still doesn't take my money).

Which leads me to believe that maybe they are actually doing something to fix the issue.

Hope always dies last.

I've had the $200 option for a while now, but it does seem strange that they are putting this new option on more peoples payment page if there is no possibility of using it. If there is method of paying out there (like the old TOR trick), I am baffled as to why an MM assistance does not just login to this forum, post the method, and then just disappear if they do not want any attention. My guess is that there just isn't an option to add credit at the moment, but here is hoping for the future,
Cheers,
Dave C

What kind of sense would it make to keep payment options secret? They're trying to run a business, aren't they?

No idea, but this seems to be the way that allofmp3 / mp3sparks just work. There have been several payment work rounds which people have come up with in the past, have been posted on these boards and then used by lots of other people. I can not believe that the guy who run allofmp3 did not know these themselves, so why didn't there just post them on the allofmp3 blog.

Maybe they figure the wrong people might be reading. But in the end they need a lot of people to buy their stuff, not just a chosen few who can shell out large sums.

Smile Still Offering Credit - 03-06-2008, 08:35 PM

The good ole' boys are still offering credit. just got another $35 to take me up to $210 dollars credit. Where will it end? Surely they must have been up to something during the period that the site was down

I think your first sentence is very true. Unfortunately as soon a fix gets well known, the people in the powers flex their muscles & close it down. I remember reading a very well written post on the allofmp3 blog ages ago (~12 months) on this subject. The post was then mysteriously deleted from the blog, so who knows what that means. If I had to guess I would say that maybe mp3sparks are getting properly hassled by the Russian government and they are just having to get that sorted out before they can do anything. This is all total guess work, so I am just going to follow Dodger45's example and ramp up my club credit,
Cheers,
Dave C

Did you get it? Did they give it to you? Vik said she is tapped out, but I still have some money there from a funding binge I went on when they took both Visa and MC (those were the days!)

What amount would make everyone happy? - 03-07-2008, 02:41 PM

Maybe MP3Sparks ought to just find out what would it take to make the powers that be happy. I would gladly pay up to .35 a song for what I want. You would think the record companies would be happy with that.

It's not about the money, it's the principle of non-compliance with DRM and RIAA. Nothing will make RIAA happy other than shutting down the Sparks/MM entity entirely.

By the way, your offer of $0.35 per song is really kinda low, to be quite honest - you're probably paying more than that already with some of the songs on Sparks depending on encoding and file size.
