Good idea. I think most people here seem to know that the RIAA has their hands into everything. It could be a warning to the kind individuals that are helping the community to be cautious.

I see a message about payment options and that they should be kept to within the MemphisMembers' forum (i.e. their site, not THIS unofficial one)

I think this implies that although the forum on this site about new payment options is well intentioned, perhaps it is making it difficult for MM to keep on having to come up with new options.

Writing about new options in the forum makes it too easy for the RIAA et al, we're basically telling them about the new options and thus determining their next step in cutting them off.

Perhaps make certain forums private, restricted to people above a certain post count or something? I know it's controversial, as it would make it difficult for occasional browsers to find out what's going on, potentially drive traffic down etc...any alternatives though?

They're a little annoyed - 07-16-2008, 07:21 PM

I think their issue is that every time they come up with a creative wheeze to facilitate payment it is instantly reported within this forum. With RIAA & IFPI, undoubtedly, regularly looking at the forum to check latest developments MM & Sparks are probably getting a bit hacked off that the MAFIAA are being alerted within seconds of a new payment method becoming available thereby hastening the cessation of said payment option

I am going to write Assistance in Russian in a second and at least suggest the implications of their phrasing.
I just wrote Assistance a message explaining the difference between the words control and the russian word with the same root, advising of implications on this forum, and asked to at least replace "control" with "monitor". Will see what they have to say.

If they're concerned about people posting about their various payment methods, shouldn't they confront the Admin/Mods of this site, rather than issuing things like this???

If sparks believes that the forums are compromised in a controlling manner rather than monitoring they may cautious of everyone.

Which is why I believe the problem is with their broken English rather than anything else, as per below.

I agree it would be nice if we could keep any new methods of funding our accounts secret but that would prevent other genuine members from benefiting from these schemes.

Unfortunately if we are going to help each other it is a necessary risk that has to be taken.

Any of the senior members want to comment?

LOL....We are certainly NOT controlled by the RIAA/IFPI. We have helped
Sparks many times in the past.(a nice thankyou..)I think what they were "trying" to say that we must be careful and diligent of such creatures lurking around.
Solaris and I and Aom3 know that they do. But we are a non-profit
information site and proceed on a very high level of integrity. That's why when I see a new member asking to many questions,I am sometimes a little hard on them...You never know, and we must consider the rights and safety of all.We have done a great job so far.

So no we don't Know why they would say such a thing, but maybe our discussions of their various payment schemes have not exactly been helpful from their perspective.

We will have aom3 look into this one.
