MemphisMembers Preferences issue -
12-29-2007, 04:16 AM
OK so this may be a minor thing, but paranoia strikes deep. My preferences in MM were set to Russian, and now, after I logged on, they not only were in English, but there wasn't a place in preferences to change them back! Tor didn't help; changing country (in prefs, of course) didn't help - the option to toggle to Russian just disappeared. Perhaps nobody else cares, but this is annoying and I don't like change. Any clue as to what's going on? I've been out of touch for a while because I had internet problems in the last 2 weeks (longer than eternity these days), but I logged on to MM all last week, and until yesterday, my Russian preferences were untouched. And now - this. Any clue as to what might be going on??

I can feel, judging by the number of views and responses to this thread, this is really the hottest topic on the net today.

Hmmm, I'm suspicious, I wonder whether they're getting ready to set up a new site for Russian users only, cut MM loose and pander to 'more conventional' Western Europe copyright laws. Paranoid moi?

If they do that you simply must begin to call me the fortune teller
I predicted this in July/August, when Mediaservices proclaimed that AllOfMP3 would reemerge

12-29-2007, 10:49 PM
I can't remember, is something meant to be 'happening' with mp3sparks and the other download sites on 1st Jan . I.e. is there another deadline coming up on that date??
Cheers,
Dave C

A new law comes to effect - but let's see if the enforcement of it is very high on Mr. Putin's list of things to do in the new year

Me too
I really think that Mr. Putin's mind is elsewhere come 2008 - and that he now wouldn't give a rat's a... about what an American interest organization has bullied its way into
