MemphisMembers won't allow downloads? - 01-01-2008, 06:12 PM

I've gone to My Basket to download at my MemphisMembers account (using Firefox 2), right click as usual, but it will not download. Everything seems to be at a standstill or disconnected.

Any word of technical issues with this?

THANKS.

Drew

Hi PMR, It's probably a temporary glitch as it has happened before. Have you:
a) Tried downloading via AllTunes (sorry, no good if you're a Mac User )
OR
b) Tried Assistance - they're normally fairly responsive on MM

Get the FlashGot extension for Firefox, install Free Download Manager and the Free Download Manager plug in for Firefox and off you go.

I now get download speeds up to a whopping 2500 KB/sec

The problem is mostly due to the following:

MemphisMembers recently moved their download IPs to the 88.255.0.0/16 IP-block, which is blocked by several ISPs/routing companies. The reason is that this AbdAllah_Internet/TurkTelekom net is notorious for its number of spam hosts and trojan sites.

I contacted MemphisMember assistance regarding the issue. Here is their reply:

There’s been some maintenance work going on lately. The service will be restored as soon as possible. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.
Edit: Seems to be fixed for me at least. I can download again.

When I traceroute the MemphisMembers download IP it is blocked by po1-0.core01.lon01.atlas.cogentco.com (130.117.1.225), which is a Cogent router in London, I believe. Thus I cannot download either.

I contacted MemphisMember assistance regarding the issue. Here is their reply:
Yep, MM now displaying exactly the same problems as Sparks, obviously for the reasons Smith has pointed out As with Sparks can get in with Tor no problem but that's hardly the point

Hmmm, that's strange, now I can get in no problem without TOR ah well not complaining

Is MM Accepting New Members? - 01-02-2008, 02:06 AM

I haven't seen this topic in awhile. Is MM accepting new members? Last time, it seemed they had a $300 threshold. I was at $265 at the time, but now am something over $350-400.

I asked politely a couple of months ago and was told that "Sorry, this option is not offered anymore" or something like that. I was well over 500 bucks in at that time
Give it another try and let us know what they say.

same problem as Plastic: Items in basket for 4 days now and still unable to download. WTF?
I'm surprised there are so few comments on this, is it an isolated problem do you think? I'm UK and a Mac user.
Back to MP3 FIESTA i think, completely reliable and good catalogue.

Well, AllTunes did the trick. Downloaded the software, and then it detected I had songs waiting in my basket and then down they came. That was very easy.

Thanks for the suggestion.

THANKS.
