I am based in UK and have not been able to fill my balance online for a long time now. I used to use a bloke called Bob in Maryland, USA who supplied gift certs but he was shut down in May. Since then filling my balance has been impossible.

I have been a member for about a year and have spent over $300 so could go down the MM route but I am nervous that it's because I'm UK based that I can't ever re-fill and theat even MM won't be able to help me. Other people on this forum seem to re-fill occasionally but in the UK it seems to be impossible.

The sites are down at the moment and although I can access and preview in alltunes I can't purchase because it hangs at the encoding stage. I realise that this might be because a switch to .ru but will this help me in the UK?

There is nothing that special about that UK. If anything the US is the biggest hotbed of anti-AOMP3 activity because we have the RIAA. I see no reason you should be afraid of MemphisMembers. If anything you'll get more protection due to its semi-stealth nature.

The other option you have is to open a new account a MP3Sparks and use the Tor proxy to find yourself an IP that isn't blocked by Sparks. Then you will be able to fund your account.

Bob wasn't "shut down" by the way. Only that one guy in the UK was actually "Shut Down". Everyone else just decided that the water was getting a little too hot (which, of course, was the point of arresting that one guy). I would love to know if they're carrying on with pressing charges, or if they've let him go. I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn the latter.

I'm based in the UK and have had no problems filling my balance since activating my invite to switch to MP3Sparks. I am now able to fill my balance via MP3Sparks or via AllTunes.

If you've not had this invite, then I would definitely recommend that you try for a MemphisMembers account or do as Cornutopian advised.

just wanted to reiterate what Jacq2112 said. I am living in the UK and since getting in to MM a couple of months back have had absolutely no problems in getting credit into my account [EDIT] Just realised I am having a few problems at the moment (along with everyone else) but I can still easily get credit into the MM account via other methods (i.e. mp3sparks / alltunes website) [EDIT Finished]. Before joining I fell into the occasional payment category (and that was using a transferred mp3sparks account (back in the days when you could get into MM from mp3sparks)).
