Sleuthing Alltunes - 07-09-2007, 11:12 PM

So I'm trying again to figure out what it is about Alltunes that lets some people pay and not others. When =I= try and pay (from any account, with or without Tor) I go to the following:

First the "balance" page that has the pay by card or PIN code options: http://www.alltunes.com/payment/refill.shtml

Then if I pick Credit card it takes me to:
http://www.alltunes.com/payment/refill_card.shtml?gift=
which is the page where you select the amount.

Then if I click the button I am sent to:
http://www.alltunes.com/payment/refill_card_3.shtml
which is the page where it says sorry you can't pay.

Does anyone who can pay go to any different URLs than these?

Also on the PIN Code side, again starting with:
http://www.alltunes.com/payment/refill.shtml

Clicking on the "purchase PIN-Code" link takes me to:
http://www.alltunes.com/payment/payment.shtml
where you select the amount

Then clicking the button takes me to:
http://www.alltunes.com/payment/payment-tocp.shtml

which then forwards me to:
https://secure.alltunes.com/ps/chron...all2chrtun.php
which of course, fails.

Again, if you can pay, what do you see when you do this?

Thanks!

Hi Cornutopian,
when I login into alltunes via my MM account I go thought four pages, the last one being the actual payment page of e-centru. I have attached a pdf of the page which gives me a different url to the ones you get (this is the first page).

This is the only one which is different for me. I have attached a pdf of the page, hope it helps (the url is at the bottom of the page).

Let me know if this is of any use,

Woah, you get the wire transfer option too? That is interesting. I don't get that. And from what it sounds like, a few people don't even get the "Refill by Credit Card" option. I wonder what determines that?

I think that r=number is just some kind of session ID. I can past that url into my browser and I just get the normal page, the same as it would be if I'd gone there from the main page.

I do have a question though: What happens for you if you (while logged in) just paste http://www.alltunes.com/payment/refill_card_3.shtml into the address bar? Does it STILL take you to E-centru, does it give some other kind of error, or do you see the not accepting cards right now page that I see when I do that?

If I hit on the link in your post while I am logged in I go through to the e-centru page (refill_card_3.pdf). This is the same page I see when I follow the steps before (actually, not quite, the sum is not filled in)?? [EDIT] Also the order no. changes every time.
Cheers,
Dave C

Hi Dave and Cornutopian.

Same thing happens to me (as happened to Dave), when I paste the link and hit Enter.

I think it clearly differentiates between the members. I can't pay unfortunately - when I click on the link, it says "payment temporarily unavailable". Tried it on 2 different computers and a blackberry; it doesn't matter. Looks like I am screwed, unless there is a way to refill the balance which I haven't yet discovered. If anyone can help, I would appreciate.

Either you wait until Sparks comes back up, or you go through the Webmoney route. To do that see this thread: http://www.aom3.org/forum/showthread.php?t=177 (Buy Webmoney, self help)

Ok, so clearly there is something very basic that is different between our accounts.

Cornutopian... I always believed the Security allocation On Alltunes
(only) was Username and Password based the same you might have on
a local server ..this security database is probably created from the allofmp3 Master Customer file of blocked users... But this security customer data base can also include blocked isps the application they use is costly(they can afford it).. which makes it harder to figure out..but if they need some
Capitol, you'll be surprised how fast they will change some of these paramiters
set up on the app. ...Like Sparks before it closed
Of course this is just an assumption having interfaced as a IT Leader with DB
security on various occasions when installing new apps.

How does your IP address differ from the IP address of the person that is able to replenish? i.e. what is the country of origin of the IP that can replenish their account and the IP of the country of those that can't?
