Thanks for the update -

I would like to thank AllOFMP3 for emailing to let me know they hadn't heard from me for a while. It was a pleasant surprise to see that MP3Sparks is back and running. I appreciate as a member for keeping me in the loop. I had lost all hope.
You guys really rock. Nice to be able to purchase decent quality music once again. On ya!

MP3 Sale -
02-03-2008, 01:25 PM
I would say, Solaris, that Martinman's ditty was meant with bitter irony and strong satirical lament!
By the way, MP3 Sale does NOT permit users to sample full songs (I engaged in a somewhat spirited cyber tete-a-tete with someone from their site, who actually voiced amazement that, of about 5,000 songs I had downloaded on allofmp3, etc. these past two years, I had first listened to about 25% of them in their entirety). Well, yes. And another 2,500 or so songs I listened to well past the 30-second tease. Anyway, I was told that no such benefit would befall me (though, to give MP3 Sale credit [literally and figuratively]) when I placed $50 from my Master's Card into my virginal account, the site immediately doubled it to $100. I withdrew the money, though, after realizing that the site didn't grant full listens.
One more BTW: Is it possible that in some countries this option is allowed while not in others? Solaris, you are not the first to write of MP3 Sale letting users check out tunes from start to finish.

... and then there are IMPORTANT customers - Or it could be that some IP's are granted this privilege and others aren't (similar to what you suggested).
I can only once again confirm that I have full length previews, when I visit MP3Sale (I just went there again to test it)

They only have full previews for what they deem to be 'popular'.
(I just went there to test it)

Yes you must be REALLY REALLY important
It clearly states for me that the sample is the first 30 seconds:
Listening To Levon | Marc Cohn
Track information: 04:47 min, 7,06Mb Track price: $0.15
Sample duration is first 30 sec of a track
Marc Cohn | Join The Parade | 10 tracks
Release date: 2007
Duration: 47:05
Bitrate: 183
Album price: $1.20
Taken straight from the mp3sale page

Further to my earlier post, here is a quote from a post by Pastor on 23/1/08:
"Good news!
According to our stats - around 2000-2500 albums (bestsellers only) has full length previews now. They are available for registered users only.
Full length previews are generating according to sales stats... From top to bottom.. 300-400 albums per day..."
They are working on it. Be patient guys

You're probably right - I only tried three "known" artists to be sure

Hey,
It takes a bit of effort, but, assuming I can keep on listening to full-length tunes through allofmp3 et al, I can hope for a CD that I like to appear for sale on mp3 sale or another site, listen to said songs en toto through allofmp3, then decide which ones I' dl ike to have at the rival site(s).
It all beats .99 cents per 30-second tease at i-Tunes!

Solaris..I think martinman thinks we are associated with Allofmp3
or Sparks and got one of our come back to the site letters.
That's how I take it.
