I have a hard time imagining what they are doing that forces them to keep the whole site and everything related down for days. Not even if you move the whole system between continents would be a valable reason to keep the domain and server inactive.
I simply haven't ever seen such a behavior on any website I ever been on.

I have to say that I agree with both of you - but you know, I was once told that if you are the one that wants something from somebody MORE than they want something from you, then YOU are not the one in control!
Since I am not very schooled on the other music sites except the expensive ones, AND since I have been spoiled by the great prices and huge catalog at Alltunes, I am having a hard time determining an adequate alternative, thus, I have felt like I don't have any thing to do but be patient and WAIT, WAIT, WAIT........
QUESTION: Now that I know how to top off my balance on Alltunes thanks to Jazzy, should I do it now or WAIT (and hope that he still has vouchers when the wait is over) to see if the site comes back up and if the vouchers will still work? I really would like an answer from anybody!

The world could always use more Monty Python, IMHO.

Ironically I may have been responsible for it going down since I had downloaded Monty Python's "Every sp*rm is sacred" for a friend who had never heard the song.
Maybe that ticked off god and he/she/it decided to smite a server or three.

I, for one, don't want from them something more than they want from me. There are other stores to get music from. Unless you are some super duper audiophile and need a very particular non-Mp3 filetype, you can get decent bitrates in all of them. Music like Maroon 5 and Nickelback, that you mentioned before you wanted, can be found EVERYWHERE!

Jazzy is obtaining those vouchers on demand. So as long as he continues generously going out of his way to get them, they'll be there once the site comes back. I don't really see there being a need to get them now. Plus, just in case those particular vouchers don't work anymore, you wouldn't be putting Jazzy in an uncomfortable spot of having unintentionally delivered defective goods.
That's just my opinion of course.

Radio Luxembourg -
08-31-2008, 11:16 PM
From 1983 and until they closed in 1992* I listened to Radio Luxembourg through many nights.
After (almost) each school day, I was doing odd jobs in a small printing house. Directly from there I went to soccer practice and from there to DJ-ing in a local club for teenagers. I also had to be "gentle" to a few girls from time to time
So I rarely got started on my home work until after 11 p.m. - which was where Radio Luxembourg entered and made me able to do this for 3-4 hours straight without too much trouble
It was AM radio and especially in the summer the quality was awful - but it was still WAY better than the FM radio my own country had to offer...
Looking back I'm really appreciative that I had that opportunity (with static noise and all) because the alternative had been MUCH worse
*I do know they have now resurfaced

Hey coolqtmom,
There are sites out there with good customer service, take credit cards,
and have excellent catalogues.
Have you read any of our Music Shop Reviews on the top of the page.
They have a great deal of Info written by some of us here, unbiased, and you
might find one that suits your musical tastes. You should always have a second shop to go to even if Sparks does come back soon. For a 20$ investment you can go on a musical journey and we will help you,if need be.
I'm not saying they are better, they certainly are different, and might offer
you someting in their catalogue and price that Sparks does not.
I hope I helped in some way.
Take care,
Nightfly

The home work - not (just) the being "gentle"-thing
