Thanks for that info...I will buy a extra pair for my wife who always takes mine.....even though she says she likes the old fashioned padded ones
better for her dainty ears.....

So buying an expensive pair would sadly suffer the same fate as that of the more disposable ones, I fear. I use them for the same purpose - work and commute. They are very good inner ear headphones. Have had far more longevity than my previous ones, and have ear buds that come in various sizes, which is perfect because I have tiny ear canal, and I couldn't manage to make the default iPod ones stay in no matter what. Fontopia ones do stay in just fine, and they block out the noise really well. Sometimes I have to be extra cautious while crossing the streets of New York with them.
Which ones are good for running though? Mine (default iPod) fall out when I sprint (I run intervals on the treadmill, and each time a 6-minute mile rolls around, the headphones are out of my ears, it's very annoying).

By the way the soundtrack to "Run Lola Run" is the best running music ever, no joke.

If you managed to run with the default iPod ones - you'll be ok with the Sony Fontopia, I think. I can barely sit and make the default ones stay in!

By the end of the hellish minute of my sprint (walk 5 minutes, sprint 1), they are out of my ears and I look like a loser. A fat loser. A big, fat loser.

Need to drop at least a size before I go to Greece next month. My best friend is getting married there; I sent her my wedding dress and she said it fit her perfectly. Given that it's a perfect size 6, I wanted to reach into the phone and strangle her, or at least beat her silly.

I have nothing to say in response, other than I have an overwhelming desire to beat you silly

Don't worry, I will never be a size 6 again, unless I stop eating entirely for like a month. I mean entirely, not even a cracker.

I opted for a pair of Sennheiser CX300's in the end and although I'm still getting used to them, so far they are pretty good. Thanks all for the suggestions

Quick!! Act as if nothing has happened!
