Does senior moment come with only short-term-memory loss? Cause the quote of the salesman is nearly identical both times!

I can`t decide who has the best memory here...

Vik, for remembering that story...

Or Squash, for remembering the salesman`s exact words... TWICE!!

My first PC had a 2MB memory in it, and I used it happily for school work as well as for translation gigs. It's laughable my iPod is 80gig now and I just bought an external hard drive to store more stuff. My Mac is also 80 gig I think but I only have like 10% space left on it, how funny is that.

But personally, I am waiting for an iTouch that's got enough memory to store all my stuff, including songs, photos, movies, and even data. Only then will I upgrade (unless my faithful Video iPod craps out earlier). Can you believe, when I was in the Mac store the other day, the salesperson had the audacity to suggest that I can trade in my existing iPod for 10% off the price of the new one. It cost like $400 when it was new! I am going to use it until it's pennies per use (you see, that's how I justify all my big purchases - say an item - like a pair of shoes, say - was $400, if I wear it once a week, that's 52 weeks/year, I have to own it for like 8 years to come to $1/wear, eh?)

My guess is that my partner would have to live until she was 200,468 to get to the $1 a wear stage (assuming she stopped buying now)

That would imply that either she has in the vicinity of 150,000 shoes, or they are made of diamonds.....

Well, Squash sounds just like my husband, and I sound like his partner because I am closing in on that vicinity, and some of my shoes indeed cost like they were made of diamonds...

And then that YSL Muse bag. My husband discovered it, with the receipt tucked in, and nearly had a heart attack. I say, so what - with as much regard as I have for credit card companies, the first line of my will says "do not pay my credit card debt after I am dead".

And like seriously, if the zealots that comprise RIAA would occupy themselves with regulating credit card companies, their efforts would go a much longer way.

A combination of both - I have probably underestimated

Many years ago ( when I was child free and had a disposable income) I lashed out and bought my partner a Versace bag. It was a casual backpack style in black leather with the Vesace logo self embossed on the closure flap. Something that could be worn with jeans (and allowed both hand free to carry more shopping.)

Of course, she goes and loses it to a mugger in a shopping mall car park.

I told her that was the last time I would waste money on expensive trinkets, clothing and accessories.

Some people have no sense of humour

I am not sure how to interpret that. By "some people" are you referring to yourself, your wife, or the mugger?
