Thumbs up Logitech Wireless DJ - 04-27-2007, 08:52 AM

I've had one of these for about 4 months now. All I can say is incredible!

It allows you to access all your music on your PC and stream it to your stereo wherever it is in your house.

It will use WMP or Itunes (if you must ) or indeed both to stream your music. This is all done by bluetooth and each transmitter and receiver are paried in the factory so you don't get bleedover from your next door neighbour!

The Streampoint software runs in the background and you can stream music and use your PC for other things as well.

You can also add more receivers if you need to, but being short on money it is so easy to move the receiver from one room to another so why bother.

The business end at your Stereo is like a stretched IPOD, with blue and black screen (looks cool at night) and a wheel to scroll through. The latest bios update now means you can search alphabetically. (Have you ever scrolled through 1000+ albums to get to ZZ Top ).

PC end needs a USB port, preferably off the motherboard.

Plugs straight into an standard input on your stereo (Mine is 25 years old and compatible) and away you go.

I have brought my stereo back from the dead. The turntable is a last really really obsolete and I can access all my music remotely and hear it as it was meant to be heard!

Downsides?? Well the handset can freeze on occasions but a quick in and out of the battery sorts that out in seconds.

Here's a link for the UK site: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/pr...B/EN,crid=2647

Price is now around £110-115.

Let me know what you think!

Eveything sounds perfect .Its a gadget i would want to have but my question is that isn't it priced high. Other downside is that it gets hung up .Taking battery in and out can be quite cumbersome .I dont think i will go for it as such gadets become obselete very fast.

Hi Nik,

Depends what your definition of expensive is. Much cheaper than spending around £1000+ getting a equivalent quality stero system that is digital compatible. Also for £200+ you can buy an 80GB IPOD that will fill up. For £100 I have access to music on a 320GB hard drive that I can upgrade cheaply to an even larger one if I ever collect enough music!!!!

It gets hung about once every blue moon as the latest software update has just about sorted that out.

How can such a gadget become obsolete?

As long as it streams music from a PC to a music centre then either the PC has to become obsolete (as an item not just the one you own) or the music centre. Latest software update is Vista compatible so that is compatiblity even if you buy a new pc now. Stereo is no problem as long as you have some form of external input. If MP3 / WMA files all change then we are all buggered!!

Hi WS05669.

Exactly my point! You now have access to ALL your music anywhere (in range) in your house on whatever music system you can plug into.
