Hey Nightfly, sure
For me, the sound is terrific and the best I've heard from the players I've used. I like the ability to choose your own image background for the player, and I also like that when you're playing music, the screen is dominated by a big album art, which I think less emphasised with mp3 players today (a pity).
I have a wi-fi router modem in my home, and the Zune has wi-fi...which is great, because it means I can synch music to it wirelessly from my PC without connecting cables. Browsing for music is superior to other players I've used - you can go from searching through album to artist to song categories very quickly. Video viewing is better than other players (at least on the 30gb and 80gb Zunes - on the nano type mp3 player in general videos seem a bit redundant). I also love the FM radio - it's surprisingly good reception and the name of the station (and sometimes song) shows up on the screen through some satellite trick.
The software you install for it on your PC is decent too, but is its potential Achilles' heel; I'd advise against the Zune if you like a complex music rating system and complex playlists, and don't feel like organising your music collection through yet another music software. Zune will add more features to the software (and the player itself, as they did this year - people who bought the old Zunes were able to enable all the features the new ones had), so it may receive better playlist features etc.
Hope that helps!
