I've got a COWON iAudio U3 1GB which is a remarkable piece of equipment. The sound quality, for such a small piece of kit is superb. Previously had a Creative Zen Juke Box 60gb but couldn't get my system to see it when I changed to Vista, so purchased the U3, having read good reviews. Will add a 60gb in due course.

I have a black 4GB iPod Nano (first generation), on which I installed Rockbox. This allows me to play Ogg Vorbis, and offers other nice features (like the ability to play many games ) Unfortunately it's still under development and optimization for battery life currently isn't a priority, so it drains the battery quicker than the original Apple firmware (which can still be booted through a kind of bootloader).

I have an iRiver 1Gb player and a Creative Zen Vision M 60Gb.

The creative is great. Sound quality is excellent. I play it through a high end home audio system and can't tell the difference between the original CD and an mp3 at 320kbps. I rarely use my CD player anymore. I use Shure E5C earbuds with the Creative. Great sound!

It shows up as a drive on my computer so I can drag and drop in both directions and use it to back up data if necessary. This was a personal requirement and is why I will never buy an iPod.

Now I wish I had a 100Gb drive.

An iPod can also be mounted and used as a drive. On my iPod nano the data transfer is pretty slow, though...

I did not think you could drag and drop music to and from an ipod. This is the feature that was important to me.

On a single computer, you can drag and drop easily. What you can not do (unless you mess about with the ipod; something I have never tried doing for fear of breaking it) is take that ipod and plug it into another computer and drag and drop there (the ipod is registered to a single computer, you can swap computers, but you have to reformat it on the first plug & play). You can see why they do this, if it were possible I would be able to take my 80G ipod to me mates house and in ~75 mins he would have a copy of all of my 936 albums and I would get a copy of his. I can see why they do this, but it's not exactly hard to get an external hard drive and do that transfer just a quickly (guess this is why they want DRM),
Cheers,
Dave

I'll own up to owning an iPod Nano, however I only bought one as I could buy an adaptor from Pioneer to control the iPod from my stereo, it gives me 4GB of music in my car!

Archos Gmini 20Gb, a nice sturdy no-nonsense little player. I started out with a Rio Carbon 5Gb but thanks to allofmp3 I was having to delete/refill too often!

Just because you buy a new house doesn't mean your car should stop working. Right?

Hey fellas,

I realize this thread has been dead for a while, but I couldn't resist. I feel like everyone has an IPod and that I must showboat a little bit

I have a Cowon iAudio X5 30GB and a pair of Shure e2c earbuds.

EDIT: Heh, guess it isn't dead. I'm just too lame to check timestamps religiously.
