create Flash Cards by genre and pop them in and out like cassettes.
Anybody remember cassetes?...lol.... I know it's old school..but so am I.
And it's reasonably priced, by Xmas it will be even cheaper.

Thanks for the link NightFly - It sounds pretty interesting. I'm pretty new to the various MP3 players - how would it attach to me for running - can you get a belt clip or does it have to be an arm band? Does it have it's own software that you have to use? I currently use Rhapsody to manage my music. It sounds like the card would be a great way to back up my music files as well.

And I do remember cassettes and holding my tape player to the radio to record my favorite songs. Wow, I've just dated myself!

Yes Rottylover, you just dated yourself and we are on the same page.

You can use any sotware to manage your music because a mp3player
is disk oriented where you drop and click the file from your hard drive onto
the Mp3player that acts like another disk device..The internal software
will sort your music for you when put it on the player..If you want to
sync your player directly from Rhapsody downloading directly to your
disk..Then you must check with Rhapsody to see if the player is covered,
but most likely it will. And the clip or armband issue..I'm not sure.

I use different music managers and never have had conflict with any of them.
Even Itunes interface for music mangement.....

Shhhh don't tell anybody..

One of my mp3players is the SanDisk 280e and I confirm everything Nightfly has said about it. I bought a case that has a belt clip on it that swivels and that works fine for running, etc. As far as I know there isn't an armband made especially for it, but you can get any armband and just attach it with the clip. Most SanDisks work with Rhapsody. I subscribe to Rhapsody to Go and I love that I can download music that I haven't purchased and listen it to it as often and long as I like as long I pay my monthly subscription. I usually use Rhapsody to download music. I just put it in Rhapsody's library and then add it to the player. You can add it directly to the player too, bypassing the library. The downloading is very fast. While you're connected to Rhapsody, SanDisk updater checks for firmware updates and automatically installs them. I have the 8 GB player and added a 2 GB card.

By the way, you can also drag and drop the music directly onto the player without going through Rhapsody. I've had the 60 GB iPod for over 2 years but I find myself usually listening to my SanDisk.

So, do you want me to change your forum username to SanDiskfan?

Very funny! Actually, I should have just used Musicfan, but I'm sure someone else is already using that. I love everything connected to music....except for iTunes of course!

That was nice and subtle! By the way, since I have your attention, I have a question regarding bitrates and you seem so knowledgeable. Why do all these Russian music websites have different bitrates for albums? What does it mean when someone "upgrades the bitrate" and does that mean it's not genuinely that bitrate? Why would an album have varying bitrates? I've been choosing which website to use depending on the bitrate. Is that a wise decision? Thanks, Nightfly. I was away for a few weeks in Seattle visiting the kids.

I'd be interested in this answer. When looking for an album which mp3sparks do not stock, I go down the list of sites I use and usually go with the one which has it at the highest bit-rate,
Cheers,
