What MP3 Player Do You Own? - 04-18-2007, 01:44 PM

Since i've purchased my MP3 player, I find that im using it everyday, can't live without it!

Rather than following the crowd, I did a lot of research to find a MP3 player suited for audiophilles, which lead me to the COWON iAudio 60GB HDD Player, which supports OGG, FLAC etc..

I also purchased a pair of soundwise M8 ear-phones yesterday which im looking forward to.

I have a nice looking 12 Gb Vibez, which off course also plays both MP3, WAV and Flac (and OGG, which I don't use).

N.B. Maybe none of us have an iPod?

I'm quite mad about sound reproduction, so I get flac files, make cds and listen at home or in the car with my hi-fi systems. On the mac I have a dedicated firewire hd for music and listen via headphones. My son gets what he wants and puts in his ipod (after some decoding), but he's already affected from sound quality (lol my fault).
p.s.
I didn't agree on the ipod thing.

I have a 40 GB 3rd Generation iPod (it's warranty is almost up so I'm going to trade it in soon to Best Buy for a new 80 gig) and a black 60 GB video iPod. I also have a black 4 GB Nano. I got on the iPod bandwagon back in September of 2002 - literally the day the PC iPod's came out and have upgraded as each generation has come out (via Best Buy's 4 year PSP program -- know how to work the system and life is sweet), though I got the 60 GB video for my birthday in 2005 and the nano as part of my Audible.com membership (and I love that I can use it with the Nike shoe insert). It's not THE BEST for sound quality, but I love the interface and the design, and a pair of $200 Shure earbuds makes it sound pretty freaking awesome.

If I want really supreme sound quality, I still have my old trust MiniDisc player/recorder with USB connection so I can directly download from FLAC, MP3 or any other format. The downside, only 80 minutes per disc. The upside? Great quality, I can use it as a DAT with my video camera, and I have a home player/recorder that I got on the cheap that is optically connected to my receiver.

I have a couple of cheap ones. I have a Nexxtel, or something like that from The Source, which used to be Radio Shack. It's only 512 meg.

And I have a Sandisk 512 meg with an SD slot.

I need to replace my headphones for my MP3 player.

I just use my PDA, and I've downloaded a player for it. It works quite well, but the battery life is a real drag.

I have yet to find a decent well made audio player (other than iAudio), that is 60gb+, supports multiple audio formats, good sound quality etc..

I have the little IPod Shuffle. Very compact and easy to take with me anywhere I go.

I finally got my first mp3 player about 3 months ago - I had to have something that I could have access to my library of 1000+ cds. Got the 80GB ipod, and it has totally re-envigorated my music life (that and the discovery of these sites). It is with me everywhere. Never thought I would go digital, but like others posting here, I still buy cds, but am now exposed to so much more music (through a site like allofmp3), so easily. I really love the ipod, but know of nothing else.
