Hi Chevy406 and welcome to the forum

Let's see what Cherrybaby reports back - maybe she did find a way to fix this problem

solution - 11-29-2007, 11:49 PM

Found a solution that may help. Apparently there is a skipping issue with ipods that is not caused by mp3fiesta and has been an issue for quite some time. I'm not sure if this issue is at all related to the mp3fiesta-ipod problem.

Anyhow what I did was identify all the songs that skipped (four out of five). Downloaded the rest of the album, which plays just fine. This tells me there is a definite software issue and not hardware. I deleted these songs from my laptop, resynced ipod to clear them from its memory, then redownloaded the problem songs, added them to the itunes library and re synced. All of them play with no problems now. When i redownloaded them I downloaded them into a separate subfolder to the main album folder. I did this for my own convenience so I could keep track of the songs, but I am unsure if this is a variable that had an effect on the outcome.

Hope this helps.

Hi Solaris - and no I didn't find a way....spent about 8 frustrating white knuckle hours deleting, rebooting, reinstalling, renaming, reanybloodythingicouldthinkof.....
Grrrrrrrr.......
Most frustrating thing is, I dumped the downloaded albums onto a memory stick and they play fine in the mp3 player in the car!

I've given up. But then I am a girl and we tend to do that. Thanks for the replies guys xx

I had the same problem. I did the following.

Erase all these songs.

Then add to the library again.

Then right click on each one of these songs and convert ID3 tags.

Then sync it to ipod.

This converting process might move songs to different places, then you can gather them in one place.

I have no idea what ID3 tags are. Does anyone know? I just converted it because something needed to be converted.

Hi grigor and welcome to the forum

You need to ID3 tag your MP3 files, if they don't have a "proper" name, when you buy them or convert them from your own CD collection.

It is not enough to right click and rename MP3 files like you can do with for instance a Word file or a folder.

If you don't ID3 tag these, you will experience that the MP3 files (you thought you had renamed) will get their "old" incomplete names back, for instance when you burn them to a CD or a DVD.

There are MANY MP3taggers to choose from. I use one that is called Tag&Rename, which I think is excellent

See some of them here: MP3 tag software downloads and reviews at Download.com

Did you convert the files? Lots of the files on Mp3 fiesta may be variable bit rates and some mp3 players cannot decode them correctly. Running the files through a converting program may help. I convert all of my files to 128 kbps, but you can convert higher as long as the bitrate is same or higher than what you want to convert to.
