Payments - PLEASE RESPOND PRIVATELY IF YOU CAN'T PUBLICLY! - 09-05-2008, 03:46 PM

Having read through the last couple of posts, here goes:

I too, have just tried to refill my balance with mp3 Fiesta and nothing is happening. Whereas I respect site policy on discussions, two things strike me as being rather odd:

1. I can't find the site policy so I would welcome the chance to read it - apologies if the location is obvious. I'm over 40, so my braincells are decreasing rapidly.

2. Why bother having a forum which overtly promotes mp3 sites, if when problems occur with something as serious as payments, we are not allowed to discuss it? I can't see the logic in that unless the Admin. team are incahoots with site owners and are afraid of upsetting them. Whether I'm right or wrong, can you see my point?

It's a fact that Admin. - who I do respect as I do a similar job on another forum - do appear very cagey when explaining anything to do with payments. Yet without those of us paying into the sites, what would be their raison d'etre?

C'mon folks - fair's fair. Let's have a bit more openness and more forewarning here, especially when things go wrong. I see little point in paying in anymore money to any site, until such time as there is more reassurance that it won't be money going straight down the drain.

Can't answer your payment question, someone more knowledgeable than me will probably let you know. But the reason payment is not discussed openly is that this being a public site, certain individuals of certain regulatory bodies may snoop around to find out the new payment methods in the hope of shutting them down. You can imagine the shops frustration at a new payment method being blocked shortly after all their hard work and (quite often) creativity to get it up and running.

The prohibition of "public" discussion of some music sites is, it would seem an imperfect solution for an imperfect world.

Hi Baggiesfaninessex

I have publicly stated my point of view on this subject at least a couple of times before - for instance in this thread:

http://www.aom3.org/forum/f9/music-s...sues-2344.html (Music Shop Payment Discussion Issues) (Post #3)

So in other words you and I are 'on the same page' on this - especially since this isn't a discussion about this or that payment processor's name - but the fact that no one's MP3Fiesta-balance seems to be replenished despite forum members telling us again and again that their credit cards are being debited just the same

But this is not MY site - this is aom3's site - and HE must make a judgement on this

Thanks Solaris and for the link too. I must confess, I hadn't read that thread and it does explain more clearly, the issues faced by the team here. And whereas I sympathise with their dilemma, I do agree with you and feel that such discussions (around payments, etc) provide the main purpose of the site.

Baggiesfaninessex, just to stick to your question:

indeed, noone can refill their balances at fiesta as for now. and noone, including aom3 admin/moderators/senior members is aware of the decline reasons. thus, there is not a single chance for anyone to learn more. you have to keep patience and wait while they're up again.

yet there's no need (for a lot of reasons) to raise such questions -- even if your learn the exact reasons (which is never going to happen) of their payment system being down, you still will be unable to do anything, right?

i really hope my post was somewhat helpful.

regards,
Max

Sticky - 09-05-2008, 04:57 PM

The last time we had this discussion... maybe a week ago... I had suggested creating a sticky or an announcement with indication of store representatives to contact when experiencing payment problems. Everyone seemed to like the idea. Nightfly was going to present it to aom3. Haven't heard a thing since.

Hi Baggiesfaninessex,

And I first have to say that I'm surprised the no one has asked about your very interesting name!

Max showed incredible restraint in not telling you that other sites, including his, do accept payments at this time. If you have used the Russian/Ukrainian mp3 sites for any period, you have no doubt learned to be flexible. I use 3 or 4 which helps when 1 or 2 are down or not accepting payments.

This forum has a wonderful comparison table for all known sites. Nothing against Mp3Fiesta: I have never really used it. But I've learned to maintain a balance in a number of sites.

So, how about the name??

Upon closer reading, I think the name has something to do with someone in Essex who is quite fond of baggies. I've been hanging around Miss Vikulenka too much lately!!
