If you have never heard of her.... she is definately worth a look.
Michelle Malone - The Official Website

Anyone know where her CD's can be found, other than Emusic?
Thanx.

Steve,

Thanks for your excellent recommend ..I know of her, I subscribe
to "Guitar Player" magazine and there was a great article on her.

She is on Emusic only right now, because she is a Independent artist.
But they do they have a nice selection of her work.I suggest
that you join Emusic there is a link right on the front of our site.
When you join using the link you get 25 free downloads and you help
support this great site. This is a non-profit site and as you see
our administrator keeps this low key.

But of course I recommend Emusic anyways you want to join, that's
the best for you.I have been a member for years .If you love the Blues
you will certainly enjoy Emusic. Give them a Spin if you don't like it
cancel and you've lost nothing and gained a Michelle Malone album
or 2. We have a Emusic separate sub forum if you have any questions or concerns about their services.

Ms. Mallone should be more popular than she is but I think that
if the newest album gets more popular you might find her on the other sights.
Also if you are a member of a site you can always put in a request.
But you would only get one or 2 albums not like the selection you have on Emusic for a great Independent artist like Michelle Malone.

I have "Sugarfoot" which I recommend to all Blues fans..
Which albums do you recommend.....I would like to get another one
by her ...but you know the 30 sec. sampler doesn't cut it.

Thanks for the great post and recommend,

Nightfly

Nightfly...
I really appreciated your Blues Listening Rec's in an earlier post. Been playing in a Blues band for the past 6 months or so... no gigs.. just practicing... our set list so far:
Keep what you got
Milk Cow Blues
I Smell Smoke (Johnny Winter - Great tune!)
Get Some Insurance
I think it was the Wine
Green Stuff
Mustang Sally (I know - way over done - buty we slow it down!)
Tough Enough
Bull Frog Blues
Soul Temptation
Shaky Ground
Talkin to Ya on the Telephone
Help Me
My Feet Back on the Ground
Drive My Car
Walkin' by Myself
Mercy, Mercy, Mercy

Thought you might enjoy. Do you play? I just returned to drumming after a 35 year hiatus to learn to play jazz. Did that for a year, and am now playing blues. Much easier than Jazz! It's a "Dad's Band" 4 of us are over 50. We got one youngin' in the band.

I will look into Emusic. I just discovered Michelle Malone myself... she's coming to Kansas in a few weeks to play at a local blues bar. You might also check out a band called "Trampled Under Foot." I think their website is Trampled Under Foot - The Very Best Of The Blues!. They are a local band from KC, play mostly covers, but their female lead singer goes from Janis to Aretha, and plays bass to boot! I doubt they have any national exposure, but they're tight.

Steve,

Yes I have been playing guitar for over 40 years. I am presently
teaching Blues guitar (as you say to yougin's)..I taught off and on over
the years.I've always played mostly blues, but played Jazz Fusion
for about 3 1/2 years Larry Corryell,John McLaughlin extc.(not exactly
party music...lol..)
I jam with the young guys now and they keep me on my toes.
They call us older guys affectionately "dinosaurs"....which always
makes me laugh. But when my arthritis isn't acting up I can
still show them a thing or two....

You have a good song list there, good luck with that.

And if you have any questions about Emusic you can post
it in the Emusic Thread under Music Stores or you can pm me.

Take care,

Nightfly
