Thumbs up Dave Hole - Slide Guitar Extrordinaire - 10-01-2007, 06:03 AM

I know there a lot of guitar tragics that lurk within these walls so I thought I would give a plug to a down-under boy who never ceases to amaze me with what he can achieve with a piece of metal pipe on steel strings. I highly recommend Dave Hole's 2006 album 'The Live One' - phenonemal blues/rock slide guitar. The last track - 'Bullfrog Blues' is 12 minutes of magic that has me reaching for my air guitar every time I hear it
His earlier studio albums are also worth a listen if you are into this type of music.

Squash,

Yes you should be proud of him..I have 2 albums by him while I feel
his material is inconsistent, his slide playing on the other hand is always amazing and very aggressive.. and makes his albums highly enjoyable.
On your recommendation alone I will down load this one tonight..because
you always seem to be right on the money.

Thanks for the recommend,

Nightfly

Very kind of you to say so. Although there are some, within slapping distance of where I am presently sitting, who claim my taste is entirely within my mouth
(and I don't mean the labrador)
Regards,
Squash

Thanks Chris,

I didn't get that one yet ...

I am making a disc of slide players
for my students, you have reminded me to add Dave Hole to the list
of fine Slide players.

Thanks for the timely recommend....

Hi Nightfly,
