Rocking album...I saw her 10 years ago open for BB King
and also sing with him that night ...very cool indeed..
and she can also sing a great ballad which is very jazz /torch like..
Yes one of the great women singers...

and her husband Ray Brown
Sarah as well was best in middle age(well I think she was great at all ages) ..We both forgot about Billie Holiday..I love her late
stuff on Verve when she was strung out..could make you cry..ever see
video of late period performance of My Man..amazing..
I used to go to MP3stor but they have been a little shaky lately..but a
really good deep Jazz catalog... Emusic has fantastic back catalog of Prestige
Concord and also great import Indie classic releases of Monk and other
great bop period artists many great live Live material from 60's France..
from various great artists looking for a living like Chet Baker...
SoundsBox.com .. a new site on the block, has just got Fantastic new arrivals
of Jazz..some pretty rare stuff..Some old bop like P.Chambers featuring
a young John Coltrane..1956..Keith Jarrett.extc..and not just the "popular"
titles some stuff I never seen before because sometimes, it is a period of
their career that is not normally featured ..but these Artists still had the chops..also Mp3Fiesta has a Ok Jazz collection but not so deep..
I hope you can get into mp3sparks soon they have a great catalog as you know...go to the Login Problem thread they have some great people working
there who I'm sure can help you out..

Take care and if you have any recommends let me know..

For all you Ella fans, check out the vintage Porgy and Bess with Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong at Soundsbox.com. Her voice is like liquid honey and Louis was in his prime. It's beautiful with great orchestration.

Nightfly, I seem to recall your saying you like Latin music as well as jazz. Check out Jane Duboc's Uma Voz...Uma Paixao that just got added to Mp3Sparks/MM.
