Also, I think you forgot Van Wilder.
Computer can't spell - I meant Van Cleef as in the late Lee Van Cleef who played Angel Eyes in "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly".( He was "The Bad".)
As to Van Wilder - you're right, I did forget - deliberately

Tomorrow, I am going to review an album I recently aquired by Maxim Vengerov, and immediately break the "off-topic" rule in relation thereto.

You broke the rule by a mere mention of the subject of the upcoming thread. Can I just move on with the second and third posts of that threat right here, without troubling you to create a new thread, or making the first post? It really would be much easier for all parties concerned.

I love Van Hire and have most of his albums but I thought after listening to some tracks in part that this was not as strong an album as previous ones?

Van Hire? Is that like Rent a Car this side of the pond? Or is this a band name?

However, his first totally new album since 2005 is brilliant. Classic Van Morrison, with 11 songs of blues/jazz/folk/soul - excellently produced. No over-the-top orchestration, just simple and smooth instrumentation and that distinctive voice.

Highly recommended.

Squash

P.S. Its called "Keep It Simple"
Back on Track..

Van Morrison is the man, there is hardly a singer that gives me as much
joy as him.His R&B is smooth, passionate and flowing with a Celtic Mystic
quality. The only boots I really collect are Vans(and Dylan). His bands are
always the best and Van plays a soulful Sax as well.

His new album is a great listen...not up there with some of his classics,
not that Van cares or even is trying for that, but Van always puts out a quality product or project. This one is diverse as Squash stated and
will please every Van fan out there.
I see you mentioned Gregorian(obviously so did Vik..) but Van had a period when he would go into these Spiritual rants with just some gentle music in the backround..He has also made some quite beautiful and spiritual albums with the superb Celtic group The Chieftains.

Check out his live albums to get a good sense of his true art as a singer,
but his studio albums are also a great showcase as well for his talents..

Turn it up,the radio,so you know it got soul....

Well said Night.

I could listen to Van sing the phonebook. His voice and music are timeless

Smile A Message From Lost Highway - 03-28-2008, 03:36 PM

Hi AOM3 Members & Van Fans,

On behalf of Lost Highway Records, many thanks for plugging Van Morrison's new album and, if you want good quality, non-pirated, preview tracks, full versions of "That's Entrainment" and "Behind The Ritual" (along with album track samplers) are available for you to listen to (and link to) on Lost Highway's web-site at Lost Highway Records

Up-to-the-minute info on Keep It Simple and Van’s 2008 shows is, of course, also available on Welcome to the Official Van Morrison Website and MySpace.com - Van Morrison - c/o Nashville, US - Folk / Blues / Soul - www.myspace.com/vanmorrison and, for a limited period, you can hear Van's exclusive BBC sessions and interview at BBC - Radio 2 - Music Club - Van Morrison and BBC iPlayer - Radio - Radio 2 .

Thanks again for your support.

Regards to All,

WEB SHERIFF

Hi and welcome to the forum

Since you use the term "good quality" about the above two downloadable tracks, it must also mean that they come without DRM - because if they're not, I'm going to remove your post entirely for being deluding

Even if iTunes (or any other DRM'ed store) GAVE ME £0.89 for every track I downloaded for the rest of my life, I wouldn't even go near such a store
