Vinegar Joe - 03-01-2008, 02:27 PM

Has anyone seen any "Vinegar Joe" on their travels?

I think they only did three albums, but with Robert Palmer & Elkie Brooks I think they made quite a good sound. I saw them as one of the bands at a concert in early / mid 1970's. I seem to remember a pretty cool Blues vibe although I can't entirely remember as I believe a few of my brain cells got slightly hammered around then

If anyone know of any sites with any of their material I would be happy to know - Thanks

Hi Hirs Ute

I've been looking for "Black Smoke Rising From The Calumet" from their third album for years, and drawn a blank

...so it's a bit embarrassing to find so quickly that both mp3sale and legalsounds have all three albums. Must get new glasses

Saw them numerous times on the college circuit during the early 70's - always thought they were better as a live act than on record (just my opinion!)

Preferred Robert Palmer's material when he started to play/record with Alan Toussaint and Little Feat circa "Sneakin Sally Through The Alley".

Happy days.
