Not sure whether I should have posted this under "Music Stores" but thought here was probably best targeted. Solaris, Nightfly, aom3 please move if need be.
Just stumbled across this site
eclassical.com click here for the link
--> Classical MP3 music downloads <-- and don't remember seeing any previous comments about it on the forum. It is a 100% classical site based in Sweden and was, apparently, founded in 1999.
I'm no expert but the site does appear to have a very extensive catalogue with the ability to search by; title, composer, performer, conductor, instrument, orchestra, mood, period and style.
All tracks are claimed to be either 192 or 320kbps are
100% DRM free and cost between $0.49 ~ $0.79. There are discounts for full albums and for some popular albums the whole work is saved as a single file and can be offered for as little as $0.99.
Tracks can be previewed although unfortunately this is done using Quicktime.
I'm not sure how they manage it but they even say if you download something and don't like it they'll give you a 100% refund.
Finally eclassical doesn't seem to have any territorial limitations with positive user comments coming from UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Finland, Germany and India to name but a few.
Perhaps some of our classical aficionados would like to head on over and give us some feedback
