Woo! Kate Earl, Fate is the Hunter just released - 12-07-2007, 12:33 AM

One of my favourite albums of 2005 that I bought on cd has suddenly appeared on Allofmp3. It's pop with a quirky, jazzy, poignant feel sung soulfully by Alaskan Kate Earl (who moved to LA for her music career but via Myspace updates I understand has obviously got rather disillusioned and depressed by the whole thing).

Officer, Silence, Free and Hero are my favourite tracks. Well worth checking out!

Given the preview a try and it sounds good enough for a download (reminds me of Joni Mitchell a bit??). Thanks for the heads up,
Cheers,

A little bit like Joni Mitchell, and some of the tunes are a bit Fiona Apple (I think Jon Brion worked on both Earl and Apple stuff so that might be why). Thanks for checking her out, hope you like her.

Just an update on Kate Earl. She's put 3 tracks on her Myspace which are just recently recorded. Her blogs already indicated she was going in a new direction, so it was cool to get a taster of what that direction is.

MySpace.com - Kate Earl - Chugiak, Alaska - LA - Soul / Pop / Lyrik - www.myspace.com/kateearl

The track "Melody" is amazing. She's a great songwriter.

Thanks for the update. I d/l "Fate Is The Hunter" from Allofmp3 and liked it. I checked out her MySpace page and listened to the tracks....sounds good and she also sounds pretty down to earth also. Liked her little blurb about growing up in some small town in Alaska.

Oooooh a reply! Only just noticed that!

Yeah she sounds nice. Check out the album page on iTunes though, one review criticises her big time for being a bit of a diva... ah well, everyone has their off days.
