Hellsongs - 07-12-2008, 03:50 AM

I am probably going to get hate mail for this, but check out the new album from Swedish group Hellsong called "Hymns in the key of 666".

They are a so called 'soft' or 'lounge' metal band and do acoustic/atmospheric covers of heavy metal classics (I can see the colour in Chris7's cheeks rising). However, the results are surprisingly engaging.

It is available on Sparks if you are interested (and game to try something a little different).

One of the songs off the album on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWLHSRnVqug

Cheers,

Squash

This group has TALENT And when you hear the lyrics you realise the songs were actually quite good.

I have added a YouTube link in my original post to one of the songs. What do you think?

Cheers,

Squash

I generally don't look at music video - mostly it detracts from the music IMHO

Here is a link to a live session of their cover of 'Thunderstruck'

YouTube - Hellsongs - Thunderstruck (live at Musikjournalen, P3)

Stick with it, it gets better 30 seconds in past the intro

Cheers,

Squash

Only my opinion, great songs, shame about the band.
