First born daughter (Nerdy Barbie) got me into this group - not easy to classify - but I like most of their recent album 'Rythms & Hyms'. Upbeat, slick rock/afro/reggae/west indies/funk fusion (I think)
If you decide to check it out start with track 2 ('Living Dafur') and work down from there (why do so many artists put their weakest song at the beginning of an album?)

Your daughter shares your good taste..really good world album..
And I think your description actually captures them...
But there's nothing wrong with the first track Squash..
or as the first track is called ..just get up and "Shake Your Limbs"...
a little hip/hop never hurt anyone..

Thanks good recommend
