I agree.

It`s a great,fun album.

And it`s so good to see a new band come up with their own fresh distinctive style and sound, instead of sounding like every other band.

True, and it is a fine album - though older listeners will surely detect a few Afro-pop, Paul Simon, Talking Heads influences . . .

I've heard tons about these guys over the past few months and every time I revisit the album I feel underwhelmed. Am I the only one who find them...meh?

If you want to listen to great bands from New York, try out Nervous Cabaret or 46bliss!

Hey Mell,

I enjoy their creativity,I usually look for stuff with more of a edge
but they are more cerebral and melodic...I also used to spend my summers
in Cape Cod so I relate to the references in their songs, and by coinsistence
Paul Simon owns a radio station in Cape Cod.So they listened plenty to Mr..Simon..it shows.
But they are not a Wow either let's see what their sophomore title brings.

Found, downloaded it, played it, liked it, forgot about it. How come that is? It's really pretty good. I expect it will get some traction come Summertime.

I think that your description here is spot on for so many things which I download. I really liked this album when I got it and gave it 9 plays in the first week of downloading it (quite a lot for me). Probably I then found another good album and what with listening to all of the other stuff I download & multi plays of the latests favourite, other good stuff just gets forgotten about. Got to say that this is one of the cons with the ease of downloading albums, stuff which deserves more plays get forgotten about. Sure I will revisit this album on some drive which I need waking up on though,
Cheers,
Dave C

Dave,

You were the first to recommend this a few weeks ago here, and I picked up
on it right away.... It's certainly not one for the ages but still a good
listen.
