See if you can get the "Hey Ho, Let's Go" anthology. It has like 55 songs, (because the Ramones hardly ever wrote a song that was more than 3 mins. long!)

Also you might want to check out The Pixies (Boston punk) or X (L.A. punk), if you like the Ramones.
Love the Pixies and X...

also recommended: Frank Black (from Pixies) solo work and John Doe(from X )
also has some great solo records.

And with all those great songs by the Ramones, they were indeed creative..

Hey Nightfly -

I'm a huge fan of X, and I just saw them on 3/25 here in Denver. It is the original 4 (Exene, John, Billy, DJ) and they were spectacular. IMHO, they were the best punk/rock band and so far ahead of their time, like light years. All these people who dig the White Stripes, they should probably check out what X was doing in the early 80's for a little primer lesson!
And the John Doe / Exene Cervenka vocal pairing....that was/is just pure smoke.

I do have the John Doe solo stuff, it is very good. Also the Knitters, which was X "gone-country".

Here is a review I found for the X show in Madison, WI last Friday 3/21 for yer' readin' pleasure (check the dates, they're on the way out to the East Coast):
