Thumbs up St. Vincent:- Marry Me - 08-05-2007, 12:05 AM

St. Vincent:- Marry Me. If you like Joanna Newsom / Regina Spektor / My Brightest Diamond, you will love this. Album of the year (so far) for me
Cheers,
Dave C

Love love love Regina Spektor (Fellow Russian immigrant New York girl). I've been making slow circles around Joanna Newsom, mainly for the reason that she shares her last name with a friend of mine I'll give the album above a try. Thanks for recommendation.

P.S. YES, I will

Joanna Newsom is someone who I feel I should like more than I actually do. Regina Spektor, My Brightest Diamond & St. Vincent rate much much higher in my books.
NB. I am on my third play through of the 'Seastories' album as we speak. No doubt she has got a great voice, I am just not quite sure about the songs yet,
Cheers,
Dave

I'll give all above bands a try, or at least a preview (now that that's working again!) Haven't heard any besides Regina Spektor yet. I saw Regina Spektor before I knew who she is as an opening act for Keane at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

Hi Dave,
Found this one on my new releases at Emusic and downloaded it ..a little quirky...but very creative and every song is different and you can't help but not to listen.. I "got it" on my second listen..she has a great voice
reminds me a bit of Kate Bush. She is definitely what the term alternative means...something different...Once again thanks for turning me on to something different and musically enjoyable.

Thanks,

Nightfly
