so backing up registry really is a good advise
Yes it is,and I probally should of mentioned that.
I always assume everybody does things like that.

I always did have my own backup of the registry,as well as I liked the ability to undo, using the registry cleaner application itself, what the cleaner I mentioned removes.
I have never had any problems with this cleaner.
I always removed all it found.
The first run was over 150 entries.

I've never used the one that you said you like, but I have also heard bad reports on CCleaner.
I used a seperate app for the reg defrag, can't remember it's name now for sure, but I think it was called NTREGOPT.
It defragged the registry on reboot.

why not go to mac?
I enjoy linux very much,it is a OS that works very well, and have no reason to look any further.
Always thought of trying out MAC,before I found linux.
It supposedly hosts some of the best audio apps available.
My main reason for never getting the chance to try the MAC OS out was $$$$$$$.

Auslogics make three absolutely brilliant FREE software products (for Windows):

Auslogics Registry Defrag

Auslogics Disk Defrag

Auslogics System Information

All three can be downloaded from here:

Auslogics Products

Note: I would probably also have been using these, EVEN if they had cost a few $$$
