Hi Shadman

I use the Audio File Format Converter component on the 'Tools' menu of Free CD-DA Extractor which you can download from ZDNet.nl . It uses the LAME encoder. There is a later version but it's a 30-day trial then 43USD to buy; that's at Easy CD-DA Extractor at Download.com . These are for Windows.

Amazingly easy to use, and under 3 MB download for the free one. Give it a go. You can create a shortcut to the converter executable (ezcddaxfc.exe) so you don't have to start it from the CD ripper. I can't comment on Winamp.

I use Easy CD-A all the time to convert flac files to mp3. It is VERY easy to use.
Plus it converts almost anything to mp3 or any music file you wish. For me it has certainly paid off for buying it.
Well worth the investment in my view.
