I too had a quick look at it yesterday but did not keep it.

I found that it was very basic compared to Firefox, which I use along with a collection of useful add-ons. Maybe if and when it is as configurable as Firefox and they amend the Terms and Conditions I will have another look.

I was reading quite a few comments about it yesterday and there appears to be some bad feelings about the terms and conditions of use. It seems Google has full use for free of anything you post on the web via Chrome. So if you post some photos to a site like Flikr using Chrome then Google has the right to use those pictures in anyway it thinks fit without asking you or paying for the right.

Edit:
Have a read here.

If you have one watch you know what the time is. But if you have two you don't know which one is right.

The more advice you get the more confusing it becomes.

Yes.

abcTajpu - easy way to insert accented characters when posting.
British English Dictionary.
CookieSafe - controls what sites I allow to set cookies.
CustomizeGoogle - enhances searching within Google.
ForecastFox - 7 day weather forecast for your area in the status bar.
McAfee SiteAdvisor - flags warnings about bad sites in Goole search and on the status bar.
NoScript - controls which sites are allowed to use javascript and Flash etc.
Perspectives - a secure way to verify encrypted sites and check certificates.
Scapbook - a quick way of capturing individual web pages or parts of the page for future reference.

almost as bad: they keep a log of all sites you have ever visited - naturally they
say its not accesible to anyone, but then why keep it?

Maybe so, but not all.

I have been reading that due to the public outcry relating to it's terms and conditions Google has amended these terms to remove the offending parts.
It should never have been there in the first place.

Anyway I am more than happy with Firefox and for those very rare occasions where FF does not work there is always Opera to fall back on.

A couple of hours with Chrome made me realize how much I rely on FF's AdBlock. I'm back to FF therefore, at least for now. Chrome does have a nice, simple look though.

When I wander out into the more 'grey' areas of the Internet and find various useful stuff and pass on that information to other forum members, then it has happened a couple of times that someone has complained that he/she was 'napalmed' by ads, pop unders, pop overs etc. going to the exact same pages, where I just went without being bothered by anything

Then I remember:

Ah, I use Firefox with Adblock Plus, Adblock Plus Filter Uploader, Adblock Plus Element Hiding Helper and Adblock Filterset.G Updater
