Don't I come to mind? I use it all the time

You can save PDF as text using your basic free Acrobat Reader.

If the PDF is online, you can save yourself the trouble of downloading it first and use this to convert it to text or HTML:-

http://www.adobe.com/products/acroba...linetools.html

Then use Google Translate as the doctor prescribed

Once again, you'd need to convert to text first.

For the rest, I am afraid I don't have a particular software recommendation, but ...

... I just did a Google search on the subject:-

convert jpg to text - Google Search

and there's plenty to choose from. There's even a fairly intelligible discussion here :-

How can I convert a jpeg to plain text? | Ask Metafilter

This is just to give you some ideas.

But it is getting better all of the time - especially if you keep your written English as simple as possible

The site translation part of it has been quite good for an even longer time

P.S. I'm going to make your link inactive in both my reply AND in your original post
