Now I always thought I was pretty good at computing A/V matters. Back up a copy of a dvd…easy. Split a dvd into two dvds, not as easy but not too difficult.
However it was when one of my friends gave me a cd using the FLAC codec that I was stumped. I couldn't get those suckers into iTunes. I went to a Mac site and put in a query and was told about XLD.
I went to their web site:
http://tmkk.hp.infoseek.co.jp/xld/index_e.html and was immediately worried…it was in Japanese English. I stuck at it and downloaded the app and then let it rip. Little XLD decodes each track individually and within thirty minutes it was stored in iTunes, backed up onto cd-r in AIFF format and loaded onto my ipod using AAC format. XLD kicks butt! FLAC files…what a breeze! I hope this helps guys.
