Just did a speedtest, but i think it is a factor 8 and not 10 koenfucius

I think it can vary - ADSL and cable will differ for example. If you take a factor 10 (e.g. you have a downlink rated at 1Mb/s, downloading 3MB will take around 30 seconds) you're on the safe side...

I Just tried this and got:-
Your DOWNLOAD Speed: 5201 kbps or 650 KB/sec
Your UPLOAD Speed: 368 kbps or 46 KB/sec
The little internet icon says it is running at 6.3Mbps, so it seems to be running at ~80% of what it says it is (guess thats pretty good),

What is the nominal rate of your connection? The upload speed is quite high (for ADSL at least), but the download speed looks like a poor 512 kb/s connection.

i have bresnan core-cable

i wonder if it is the time of day that i did the test. seems like in the afternoon download speeds might be slow. any thoughts let me know. im going to do a test tonight and see if the speeds have changed.
