A decent, but manageable swim from the shores of Australia

Thumbs up www.linkrr.com - 09-23-2008, 12:09 AM

Now THIS is a handy site: Text to links (Rapidshare, Megaupload, Filefactory...) - Linkrr

Linkrr is a small tool that turns non-clickable multiple links into clickable ones.

It is very useful when you want to download your brother's latest wedding ceremony , which he put on a 700 MB .avi file, then split it into seven 100 MB .zip files and stored them on Rapidshare, Megaupload, Filefactory or one of the other file hosting sites - but somehow forgot to make the links clickable on his homepage

Once you have copied all your non-clickable links, paste them into the box on the Linkrr homepage - and Linkrr will open each and every one of them

N.B. There is a Firefox extension for Firefox 3 (and up), which does much the same. It's called Linkification and you can get it here: Linkification 1.3.5 | yellow5.us

Thumbs up Wordspy - 10-12-2008, 06:17 PM

Quote:
e-fence v.

To sell stolen goods on the Internet, particularly using an online auction site such as eBay.

e-fencing pp.

e-fencer n.

Example Citation:
That's part of the appeal of an online auction to thieves, retail experts say. Criminals can "e-fence" stolen goods with virtual anonymity and little risk of being tracked, compared with the face-to-face transaction of selling the merchandise to a pawn shop or from the back of a truck.

The above is taken from a new site called WordSpy, which explain all the new words, which are finding their way into the English language. Not (mind you) those, which are used by a relatively few for a short period of time - but those, which will eventually find their way into English dictionaries...

Word Spy
social notworking pp. Surfing a social networking site instead of working.

Ahh, so there is an actual definition for what I do at work at the moment
