Frunze's problem - 06-14-2008, 03:17 AM

Hi Frunze,

Sorry dude I'm on E.S.T. Australia time so there's a bit of time difference between where I live and where you are.

To list your music in an ipod you HAVE to create playlists. If your downloaded music has problems id tags then you can alter them by highlighting the song in the grouped music you imported into itunes. Just do a search for the act and album name in the music section via the search window and it'll come up. Then go to the finder and access get info and you can sequentially edit the music info i.e. id tags.

For example when allofmp3 was around all of their music had unwanted info inserted so I use to edit every bloody track. OK, so I'm picky but you can do anything with the track information by going down this path, even creating whole new albums. I hope this helps.

I was under impression that the tags are all correct (e.g. track numbers are available), but the iPod still sorts it in alphabetical order. I guess I must have misunderstood the original problem. Sorry. I'll stay out of this discussion.

Could this piece of cross platform freeware be of any assistance to you guys? floola.com - Wiwi - Home

And while we're at it: IPod: Copy Music from Your iPhone or iPod to Your Computer for Free

That one might be a help for some of you too

This is in fact my problem. You got it right. I do alter tracks and other info on many songs, especially the ones that have cyrillic names (iTunes thinks it's gibberish), so editing manually isn't new to me. But there are a few albums where order of tracks quite important, like the ones I've been listening to on CDs for like 20 years and I know which song comes after which, so when I expect a B after A, and an L follows instead, I am annoyed and confused even. I guess I should have known that when it happened to my Massive Attack favorite album after I just got the iPod (when they were such a rage my video iPod cost double the iPhone today) - I just assumed I imported the tracks wrong, what the heck do I know, right?

Annoyed.

Solaris!!! You read my mind once again, what's up with this??

My husband took a bunch of photos with his iPhone, but the iPhone is defective, he cannot seem to fully sync it. The mac store told him they would replace it, but he wants to transfer pictures before he gives it up. Of course, he can't since each sync takes about 4 hours and then times out. So he is really peeved, kind of - and of course I have to download some kind of a solution, since some of you know what he does for a living he can't know where it came from

SO my question is - does either of these support photo transfer? I am looking but can't see just yet.

I am at a complete loss. I would have thought that if an album has proper track numbers, then iPod would first and foremost sort it by track (unless of course it's a Playlist, in which case you can sort it by whatever you want) and if no track numbers are there it would sort it by song name (i.e. alphabetically). Sorry, don't get it.

Totally in "what women want" only Mel Gibson isn't good looking. Plus, Solaris can do it like thousands of miles away, I think Mel Gibson's range taps out at 30 feet
