Sorting iTunes - 06-12-2008, 02:42 AM

So here's a stupid question. I somehow got my files in iTunes sorted in such a way that they are alphabetic rather than by track. It's annoying because iPod now plays albums with tracks all out of order, and I don't know how to change it back! I tried simply sorting by track, but it yields nothing but disappointment. Can someone please tell me how to restore the order by track?

Is this happening if you select Albums, or Artist -> Albums, or for your Playlists?

It's when you are in the "music" view, so all your music is in the list on the right, and you can click on the top bars to sort by artist, or album, or song. Because I had some song names that were in cyrillic, I sorted the list by song so I could rename, and after that was done, I can't re-sort. I always thought the list sort defaulted to sorting by track, but it's really annoying that it doesn't do it - after all, you expect "Kapitan afrika" right after "muzika serebryanix spitz", and the whole ambiance is off when you don't get it. Name that album, Vik.

So in iTunes, when you click on the top category bars it doesn't sort by that category anymore? Weird. Have you rebooted the program &/or your 'puter?

Impressive for a ne-fanat. Radio Afrika.

Not iPod - iTunes! YOu know how up on top it says Name, Time, Artist, Album - like the names of columns, and you click on it and the songs get sorted based on whatever column you chose. That is what I meant.

I did, and even installed the upgrade! It sorts though by whatever category I choose, but to iPod it still transfers everything in alphabetical order rather than by track. Help??

I saw Aquarium in NY a few years back. I do have a good sense of them, but not like their #1 fan or anything. What is BG smoking?

Ok, I get it. But once you are on your iPod, are you selecting "Playlists" or "Albums"? That's what I meant in my question last night.

You know princess, I was probably at the same concert. My friend Collagen (screen name of course) was the one who arranged his trip. We then followed him to Washington DC, where he played also, and then we went to dinner and I sat right across the table from BG himself. I felt like a groupie, but I am too good a girl to have done anything else except look at him with admiration the entire evening. We even hung in his room with a bunch of people afterwards, where he played some songs and then quietly fell asleep with like 10 people still in his room - he totally just zoned out. Was that cool or what?!

And yes, he must be smoking something to come up with "volk ispolnennyi ochei".
