Smile Speakers for Laptop ? - 02-13-2009, 10:41 PM

Just got a new Laptop, the speakers that come with it are so thin sounding.

Can anyone recommend a external pair of speakers for a Laptop?

Thanks,

Nightfly

nightfly, if you want small ones, there is one set that is so outstanding that it is
almost embarassing to others. i noticed it when it kept appearing with musicians
and professionals, then got one (three by now) for myself, and have despite all the
looking around, not found anything better for size and price: - LOGITECH V20 -

here a link to AMAZON, but you might also find them better priced somewhere
else, or even locally:

- Amazon.com: Logitech 970155-0403 V20 Notebook Speakers (Black): Electronics

see the comments at the bottom too.

let me know what you think once you heard them.

Someone recommended these to me as well, though I haven't tried them.

an add-on: LOGITECH is a company notoriously known for its low margin to dealers,
so their products are often not marketed ''agressivly'' - nor do they appear too often
on the discount heaps in stores.

but they are often used for bait-and-switch, so watch out.

anybody out there has (heard) them?

true, also very good sound. but over double the volume/size, weight, plus an external power
adapter - which the logitechs dont need. it depends what you need them for, how much space
you have, if you travel, and so on - nigthfly will know.

also price might be an issue: you can easily find some for close to $1000 - still tabletop only.

but let the ears be the final judge, anyhow.

Thanks Anyo, but they are a little bit expensive for my taste and are too large.
I'm looking for portables for laptop, those are more for desktops.

And Henry is right about the power adapter thing,USB powered for convenience.
Thanks Henry for you input..

... and even if you dont buy them (if you trust them, buy them reconditioned or repacked or
whatever excuse they use for $20++), just get a chance to listen to them somewhere. would
really like to know what you think of the sound.
