I also care about the musical content, and If can only get that album or track
in 192... I'm in.

Though I prefer 256vbr when I can get it.

Well after reading this thread, i've made sure all my new purchases are 320kbps. Space really isnt an issue now with the way computers are evolving.

Some of us still have space restrictions because we can not buy the new
technology so far. Some of the masses don't have the bread to keep up.
That's me. So space is still a issue though I'm getting a 500gb external HD
for real cheap to help out.And on my player 4gb gets filled up very quick
and that's why I go with 256vbr same a bit of room and still have excellent quality.
Good enough for my player and computer speakers.

For home system use CD's only.

Outrageous - 08-22-2008, 06:25 PM

Speaking of space, I just got a 32GB thumb drive (crazy how tiny it is!) to hang off my key chain. I've had my old beat up 256MB one for years.

32GB cost 100+ dollars.

Can someone PLEASE explain this to me?

Amazon.com: USB 2.0 Busdrive 64GB Pro 2 Ver: Electronics

$3,664.18 for 64GB?

32Gb thumb drive!

My first PC had a 32Mb hard drive which I thought was huge.
In those days DOS came on a few 1.44Mb floppy discs - in fact you could just about fit the core operating files on one floppy disc!

I guess I am way behind times too.

I saw a 2Gb one at the front counter in a drug store for 50 bucks figured if I don't make a snap purchase I can probably get a better deal So, I got 32GB for 100

My first PC has 16mb hard drive

My dad's computer has a 5 and a quarter inch floppy in it He makes a point of transferring it to each new PC that he gets. Although I think the last time it was used was 15 years ago Maybe it'll be fit for a museum piece soon.

I remember the 5¼ floppys - I think I may well still have a few tucked away somewhere.

I really must have a clear out!

Well, I like thise one guy's review on Amazon for the 32GB equivalent of that model on Amazon :-

Quick go out and get one, it was $3550, and not it's only 1/2 that. Such a deal, but you better hurry, there are only 2 left in stock! They must be going fast!
Or if you have a brain, you can get an OCZ or another brand with lifetime warranty and water proof for around $139.00!
Now, which would you rather have?
If you want this one, call me, I have a bridge for sale. Maybe I'll throw in an aircraft carrier too!

I could not get my head round the price of that. I thought I must be missing something that would make it that expensive. Even here in rip-off Britain a 32Gb thumb drive is only £130!
