In a nutshell all of these bands gig around the U.S. and parts of Canada and you have each venue made up of simultaneous gigs. They usually do these events at sporting fields. After gigging the bands go into their own tents, interact with their fans and get down to do some serious money making…selling cds, t-shirts etc. In return the fans get to meet their fave bands and get autographs. And there is no involvement from the music industry leeches ( the record companies).
So now you know about the Warped Tour and you're thinking what is this guy talking about? Well dudes and dudettes, mp3sparks has the 2007 Warped Tour collection. It features bands like:
Alkaline Trio (this band is up there with A.F.I. Anti-Flag and Greenday)
Bad Religion (a seminal post punk band)
Amber Pacific
Paramore (a punk pop band with a drop dead gorgeous vocalist).
I'm not going to list all the bands and in all honesty I only purchased half of the 50 acts in the compilation, but the Warped Tour collection is what any decent punkster dies for.
Now if mp3sparks would just have all the others collections prior to 2005 I'd be in my seventh heaven.
If we had all of this in my country twenty years ago my old band would still be gigging around the continent (twenty years of living in a tour bus…er, kombi and cheap motels, hmm). Oh well at least I get my annual Warped Tour fix…and so should you!

Thanks for the great post... I know Bad Religion but will check out the rest
tonight...I go back to the days of CBGB and Max's here in NY..Played
CBGB's a few times as well with a band called The Great Mistake,
Lenny Bruce's daughter was the lead singer and was not very good,
I lasted 2 gigs and quit..so it indeed was "my great mistake" but we opened
for Patti Smith...so that alone was worth the price of admission..I went
back to my blues clubs which were worse kept than CBGBs ,if you can believe that...lol....but it was where I belonged and I had a blast.
My cousin Joey was a roady for the Ramones, I knew Dee Dee Ramone may he rest in peace..
So I have a little punk lineage.
Your post bought back a few memories...thanks
